Ridgeview softball team sweeps tournament

Ridgeview School hosted and won the third annual Ridgeview Invitational Multi-County Tournament that took place March 8-10.
The Lady Raptors outscored their opponents 98 to 6 in the six-game event.
Ridgeview opened pool play with a 13-0 win over Chuckey Doak.
The Lady Raptors totaled nine hits, with Jaclyn Painter and Macy Bishop each getting two hits. Jaclyn Jenkins hit a two-run homer and Caroline Wilson tagged a triple, while Logan Fisher hit a double. Jenkins earned the win on the mound.
Ridgeview then defeated Johnson County,18-2.
Ridgeview collected 10 hits in three innings.
Jenkins tagged a single, double, triple, a home run and six RBIs. Painter went 2-2 while Rhetta Persinger collected a single and a three-run triple. Caroline Wilson hit a triple and Macey Dance added a single. Pitcher Macy Bishop earned the win.
Next, Ridegview defeated Lamar, 18-1.
The Lady Raptors were led by Logan Fisher with two hits, Painter with two hits and three RBIs, and Jenkins with two hits and four RBIs. Jenkins and Bishop combined for the win on the mound.
Ridgeview defeated Gray 23-0 in three innings.
Jenkins totaled four hits and six RBIs, Fisher had two homeruns and four RBIs, Courtney Hurt had three hits and three RBIs, Wilson two hits and four RBIs, Macey Dance and Painter also had two hits. Bishop recorded a no-hitter and struck out three.
Ridgeview won its fifth game by defeating Sulphur Springs 13-1.
Little went 3-3 with five RBIs. Jenkins hit two singles and a two-run homer and Painter went 2-3. Dance tagged a triple while Persinger added a double. Jenkins got the win from the mound.
In the championship, Ridgeview defeated county foe Boones Creek 13-2 to win the tournament.
Persinger led at the plate, going 3-4 with three RBIs. Wilson and Rebecca Arwood each had a single and a two-run homer in the game, Painter and Fisher also collected two hits. Jenkins picked up the win in the circle.
