The 47th edition of the Musket Bowl won’t be played the final week of the season like it has been over the past decade. Instead, it will be moved to the second to last week, school officials told the Herald & Tribune on Friday.
The bitter rivalry will take place on Oct. 20.
Daniel Boone Athletic Director Danny Good said that was just the way the draw worked out for the two teams, but he is happy that the game won’t have to compete with the rivalry between Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett.
“That game is already huge, but maybe we will be able to share it with more fans now that we won’t have to compete with the Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett rivalry,” Good said.
David Crockett football coach Jeremy Bosken agreed.
“We won’t be stepping on each other’s toes anymore,” Bosken said about the move. “Now people won’t have to choose which rivalry to go to.”
