Little League Jamboree set to take place March 24

Little league baseball is set to open in Jonesborough with a jam-packed Jamboree on Saturday, March 24.
The league, which brings baseball to 255 youngsters from the Jonesborough area, will open with games slated for 11 a.m.
Participating children and sponsors will be announced leading up to the game. The Jamboree will also feature fun for all ages with inflatables, face painting and a visit from Jay Cee, mascot of the Johnson City Cardinals.
This year, 23 teams will take to the diamond from three different leagues. T-ball will feature 10 teams, the instructional league will feature six, and seven teams will see action in the major league.
Children participating range in age from 4 to 12. Each team is expected to participate in 15 to 20 games throughout the season. Various games will be played every day of the week except for Sundays and Wednesdays.
The regular season lasts until the last few weeks of June. All-Stars for the instructional and major leagues are set to begin toward the end of June and last through the first weeks of July.
