Little League All Stars see success

This summer will, no doubt, be a summer to remember for two Jonesborough Little League All-Star teams as they set a new standard of excellence in the Little League District Five Tournament.
The 9-10 All-Stars earned a Jonesborough Little League record four victories, earning a trip to the round of three before bowing out of the tournament just one win away from a spot in the District Championship game.
After an opening round loss to the Johnson City Nationals, the 9-10 team beat Carter County, followed by a win over Johnson City Major.
The team avenged the early tournament loss with a victory over the Johnson City Nationals in their second face-off.
The two wins over Johnson City Little League teams are a first for Jonesborough Little League 9-10 age group.
A win over Unicoi County in the District Final Four was followed by a loss to eventual District Champion, Johnson City American League.
The Jonesborough 7-8 All-Star team became the second league team in a row to win multiple games in the District Tournament.
The team beat Unicoi County and Johnson City Nationals to finish 2-and-2 in the District 5 Tournament.
In the past two years these two age groups have combined to win nine district tournament games and earned three trips to the District Final Four.
