Lady Blazers earn conference honors

Following an undefeated record in the conference and a district tournament championship, the Daniel Boone High School softball team also controlled the end-of-season awards.
Boone’s Kayla Sanders took home the top honor, being named the Big 8 Conference Player of the Year and McKenzi Ferguson was named Co-Pitcher of the Year.
Several Lady Pioneers were also selected to the all-conference team.
Crockett’s Haley Grindstaff was a First Team pitcher selection while Jackie Loyd, Madison Tarlton, and Madison Grindstaff each received Second Team pitching honors. Lily Ayers and Jessica Leach were honorable mentions.
First Team selections for Boone included Jaclyn Jenkins, Haley Wagner, Ally Littleton, and Kaylyn Conkin.
Meredith Good, Jenna Carmody, and Hannah Montoya were all selected to the Second Team. Abby Harrison and Caroline Wilson were honorable mentions.
The Blazers coaching staff was also named Big 8 Coaching Staff of the Year.
Boone coaches include Head Coach Rick Wagner and assistants Bill Wagner, Anna Cassell, and Mark Conkin.
