Garland nominee for McDonalds All-American
McDonalds recently announced its nationwide list of prep seniors who have been nominated for the 2011 McDonalds All-American Games. Of the nearly 2,000 nominees announced, the 24 male athletes and 24 female athletes chosen to compete will be released on ESPNU airing Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
Ron, Debra and Scott Ramsey, the owners/operators of the McDonalds of Jonesborough, are proud to announce a nominee, Zach Garland, who is an outstanding basketball athlete at David Crockett High School. As a nominee who has displayed hard work, skill and teamwork on the basketball court and in the classroom, they congratulate him for this great honor. We commend Zach on this achievement, as well as his contributions to the success of David Crockett High School and the sport of basketball, the Ramseys said.
This year marks the 34th annual McDonalds All-American Boys Game, and the 10th annual Girls All-American Game. Both games will tip off on Wednesday, March 30, at the United Center in Chicago and broadcast live on ESPNU.

Proceeds from ticket sales of both games will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Chicago and Northwest Indiana. To date, millions of dollars have been donated to RMHC chapters from the proceeds generated at the McDonalds All-American Games.
During game week, All-American players visit children at Ronald McDonald Houses or Family rooms, sign autographs, take pictures and raise the families spirits.
