Daniel Boone uses long ball to take win over Cherokee

By Collin Brooks
The Lady Blazers used the power of the long ball to overcome some early difficulties and grab a 7-6 win over Cherokee.
Abbey Harrison started the contest with home runs in the first and third inning to help the Lady Blazers jump ahead to a 3-2 lead.
Home runs by Macey Dance and Kristen Hall in the fifth inning capped off a four-run inning to give the Lady Blazers a 7-4 lead. Two home runs allowed the Lady Chiefs to inch closer, but Harrison fielded a line drive and threw the ball back to first to record a double play. A pop fly ended the contest for the Lady Blazers.
With the win the Lady Blazers will host Seymour on Wednesday in the Region 1-AAA Championship.
