Daniel Boone gets 38-6 win over Sullivan North

The Daniel Boone Trailblazers were looking for a win Friday night after two consecutive losses – one to Dobyns-Bennett and the other to Sullivan South – had put them at just 2-2 on the season.
Hosting Sullivan North at Nathan Hale Stadium, Boone was able to pull off a 38-6 victory giving the Trailblazers and their fans plenty of reasons to celebrate the school’s homecoming.
Neither team put any points on the board in the first quarter, but when the second quarter began, Boone managed to score three touchdowns before the Golden Raiders knew what was happening.
Boone’s Cliff Sanders recorded 87 yards on six carries while quarterback Kevin Connell earned two rushing touchdowns and Tyler Shepherd and Austin McLemore each recorded one.At the end of the half, the score stood at 21-0.
Sullivan North came into the second half looking to get on the score board, but the Trailblazers turned the Golden Raiders offense into their own, courtesy of an interception by Austin Reppart that made way for another Boone touchdown.
The Trailblazers added to their point total with a touchdown by John Barker on a 53-yard fumble return and capped off the win with a 30-yard field goal by Brandon Burkey.
Sullivan North finally got on the board in the fourth quarter with a touchdown, but the effort was too little, too late.
The game finished 38-6. Boone rushed for 330 yards on 39 carries in the game. Passing accounted for only 23 yards of the Trailblazers’ total offense.
Boone travels to Sullivan Central this week in hopes of garnering the Trailblazers’ first in-conference victory of the season.
