Crockett earns a win against Sevier County

The David Crockett High School baseball team lived to see another day, defeating Sevier County in Monday nights Region 1-AAA semifinal game.
The Pioneers won the hard-fought game in Sevierville by a score of 7-5.
Senior Drue Deloach propelled the Pioneers to overcome a three-run deficit when he hit a three-run double to tie the game at 4-4.
The score stayed that way until the top of the ninth when Crockett brought in three runs to make it 7-4 with just one chance left for Seveir County to catch up.
Senior Clinton Freeman started the streak, hitting a double that brought in Sam Tarlton.
The Sevierville team managed to bring in one run in the bottom of the ninth, but couldnt get any closer to the Pioneers.
The Pioneers will once again face local foe Science Hill, this time for the championship game.

The Daniel Boone High School softball team is on a roll and they have one very talented Baker to thank.
Senior Cora Baker led the Lady Trailblazers in their 3-2 victory in the Region 1-AAA semifinal game against Seymour on Monday.
Baker, the teams star pitcher, allowed only five hits in the game then turned around to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Lady Trailblazers.
The Lady Trailblazers will host Jefferson County on Wednesday in the regional championship game.
