Crockett, Boone showdown ends in Lady Trailblazer victory

Daniel Boone High School senior Cora Baker was unstoppable last week in the Lady Trailblazers defeat over the David Crockett Lady Pioneers.
Baker struck out 15 batters to help lead Boone to a 7-0 victory over its county rival in the Big Eight Conference match up.
The win improved Baker to 3-1 on the season. It moved Boone to 3-1 in the conference and 4-1 overall. The teams single loss comes from a game against Science Hill earlier in the season.
Boone recorded 12 hits in the game against Crockett.
Boones Natalie Sheffey batted 2 for 3 with three runs and a walk. She recorded three RBIs with a home run in the first inning and a two-run double in the fourth inning.
Meanwhile, Boones Jessie Wheelock earned three hits, two RBIs, a run and a stolen base during last weeks game.
Crockett freshman Gail Hooks pitched for the Lady Pioneers.
On Wednesday, Boone went on to another resounding victory over Sullivan South, winning 14-0.
Thursday, the Lady Trailblazers fell to Dobyns-Bennett by one run, losing 4-3.
This week, on Tuesday, Dobyns-Bennett hosts David Crockett, and Daniel Boone will travel to Sullivan Central.
Thursdays games will David Crockett at Science Hill, at 4:30 p.m., and Daniel Boone at Tennessee High.
Beginning April 9 and continuing through April 11, the Eastman Invitational Tournament will take place.
Boone currently stands at 4-2 overall in the conference and 5-2 overall, ranked fourth out of the eight teams.
Crockett is in fifth, right behind Boone, at 2-3 in the conference and 2-4 overall.
Dobyns-Bennett leads the conference at 6-0, and 13-5 overall.
