When Brenden Reid was in 6th grade, he began playing football. On May 17, he signed with Bellarmine University to continue his athletic career.

“I’ve played on teams since middle school,” Reid said. “My favorite thing about football is being out there with my brothers and hitting people. And just having fun.”

Reid has already put thought into what he wants to do with his football career after college.

“After college I want to be a high school football coach,” he said.

Reid’s coach, Hayden Chandley, said that Reid is one of the best leaders they have had in their four years.

“He is only the second guy we have had to be voted two-time captain, both his junior and senior year,” Chandley said. “Three- time All-Conference/All-State, player of the year in the conference on the offensive side of the ball. He’s just a tremendous athlete.”

Reid played since he was a freshman on the varsity, playing kickoff, which Chandley said is very rare.

“He came to us, he and his brother, two small little missiles, and they’ve really developed into fine young men and hard workers. Reid is a great leader for us on and off the field; whether it’s a drill or practice,” he said. “Pound for pound the toughest player I’ve ever had the opportunity to coach.”

Reid feels blessed to have the support system he does and wanted to make sure he thanked them.

“I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my family, especially coach Chandley and all the coaches, and everyone that has supported me,” Reid said.
