Boone tackles Science Hill: Ends with heartbreaking loss

Fans sat on the edge of their seats as the final minutes of the game resulted in a Daniel Boone defeat Friday, Dec. 4, in a close contest against the Science Hill Hilltoppers. The final score was 59-52.
The beginning of the game was one sided as the Hilltoppers came out with a lot of momentum. Science Hill not only capitalized on defense but they also scored a lot from the floor giving them a 21-6 lead early, but quarter after quarter Daniel Boone cut the lead shorter and shorter as the game went to the final quarter.
Boone led in the middle of the fourth quarter, but Science Hill did not let them lead for long as they finished the game 59-52.
Ryan Keever led the Trailblazers with 20 points, but it wasn’t enough to give the team the win.
The top scorer for the Hilltoppers was Chris Linville with 19 points.
Daniel Boone entered the game with one win against Hampton high school, and two losses to Pickett County High School and Morristown-Hamblen West. The loss against Science Hill gave the team a 1-3 record after last Friday’s game.
With the win last Friday, Science Hill had one win and one loss. The Hilltoppers started the season with loss to Fort Mill and a win against the Trailblazers.
