The Daniel Boone High School Cross Country Team recently competed in the Bristol Cross meet. The boys team took the top spot in the competition.

Daniel Boone High School competed in the Bristol Cross meet at Steel Creek Park on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Varsity Boys won the team title over Hardin Valley Academy, led by Conner Wingfield (eighth), Matt Huff (eleventh) and Chance Bowman (twelfth) in the top 12.

Other varsity members were Mason Lewis, Max Austin, Austin Mallory and Evan Bruce.

The girls varsity took second behind Hardin Valley Academy, led by Erin Bruce’s eighth place finish.

Other varsity members were Patricia Chellah, Grace Sheldon, Alanna Cloud, Marley McCoy, Judy Chellah and Nicole Griffith.

The junior varsity teams split with Hardin Valley. The Girls JV took first place with a sweep of the top five spots —  Alysse Rowland, Gracie Murray, Chloe Brown, Abbie Hopson and Natalie Fellers.

The Boys JV placed second, led by Graydon Hull’s fourth place finish.

Other scoring runners were Jameson Cline, Brett Arnold, Keaton Smith and Andrew Davis.

The ‘Blazers are halfway through the cross country season. The teams’ next meet will be held in Oakville, Alabama at the Jesse Owens Meet on Saturday, Oct. 6. The next local meet will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the 46th Trailblazer Invitational Meet. That meet will start at 9 a.m. in Gray.
