Boone defeats Warriors, Crockett falls

The Lady Trailblazers beat the Happy Valley High School Lady Warriors 48-34 on Wednesday.
Boone was led by Courtney Baskett, who scored 15 points, including contributing three three-pointers.
After the first quarter, Boone led by one point, but pulled away in the second quarter to end the half at 25-24.
Both Happy Valley and Boone scored 11 points in the fourth quarter of play, but the lead that Boone had built up earlier in the game was enough to last them to a final score of 48-34.
On Friday night, the Lady Cougars went on a 15-0 run to start the game against the Lady Blazers, who pulled to a one-point lead at a time, but by the third quarter, the Lady Cougars had sealed the game. The Sullivan Central girls’ team took the lead of 48-23 in the third quarter and didn’t face much fight after that.
Natalie Sheffey scored eight points to lead the Lady Blazers, who fell to 3-8 in the conference and 8-13 overall.
The Lady Hilltoppers started off with a large lead and never looked back in their Friday night defeat of the last place David Crockett Lady Pioneers by a score of 74-24.
The Toppers began the game with a 22-3 scoring run and kept a dominating lead throughout the game. Leading scorers for Crockett were Brittany Ward and Brittany Richardt, each with seven points. Crockett also lost to Elizabethton on Wednesday, 75-26.
