Carmel Freeman

Carmel Freeman, 79, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Born in Unicoi and a native of Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Lillian Edwards. She was a member of Canah Chapel Freewill Baptist in Erwin. She was a caring, loving wife and mother and she loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by Richard Edwards, Kenneth Edwards, James (Jim) Edwards, Beatrice Price and Leona Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, James W. Freeman, Jonesborough; one son, James Gary Freeman, Jonesborough; three daughters, Janet Freeman and fiancé, James Thomas Cook, Alabama, Joan McCracken and husband, Steve, Limestone, and Jame Adams and husband, Terry, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Jana Archer, Justin Freeman and Jordan Coggins, all of Jonesborough; a brother, Phillip Edwards, Georgia; four sisters, Vivian Brock, Fannie Garland and Evelyn Bates, all of Tennessee, and Wanda Padgett, Florida.
A graveside service for Mrs. Carmel Freeman was held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Jonesborough.
Pall bearers were Joe Freeman, Greg Nelms, Doug Nelms, Terry Adams, Michael McCracken and Hobert Jones.
