A. Viola Sims

Ms. A. Viola Sims, 85, Telford, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late James and Addie Cleo Wassom Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Sims; a sister, Frances Harvey; nephew, Paul A Harvey; great niece, Valerie Harvey; three aunts, Ida Wassom, Stella Wassom and Parolee Millhorn; and her husband, Frank Millhorn; and one uncle, Ed Wassom.
Ms. Sims was a retired U.S. postal service employee for 42 years. She served in the Telford and Jonesborough branches and worked for three Post Masters, Ida Wassom, Luther Payne and Richard Knight.
She was a graduate of Washington College Academy. She served as secretary of the Ernest Chapel Cemetery and she was of the Baptist faith.
She was always dedicated to her family who loved her very much.
Survivors include one niece, Joann Foister and husband, Ed, Jonesborough; great niece, Andrea Miller and husband, Ralph, Telford; one great Nephew, Phillip Pierce and wife, Ashley; four Great great nephews and nieces, Daniel Miller, Aaron Miller, Shaina Miller and Sidney Pierce.
Graveside services for Ms. Sims were on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Ernest Chapel Cemetery in Telford with Chaplain C. Dwayne Baird officiating.
Pallbearers were Larry Young, Kenny Loyd, Ralph Miller, Aaron Miller, Darrell Tipton, and Daniel Menge. Honorary Pallbearers were J.W. Morelock, Elmer White, Phillip Pierce and Bobby Shanks.
The family would like to make a special thank you to the staff of Amedysis Hospice, and to caregivers Carol Williams, and Samantha Vaughn.
