Jonesborough gets a little sweeter as the 8th Annual Chocolate Fest event takes over Main Street in February.

The Jonesborough Area Merchants & Service Association will be hosting the two-day festival on Friday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 11, that offers various treats including bon bons, hot chocolate, truffles and more.

“Attendees will stroll through downtown Jonesborough and pick up chocolate treats provided by Jonesborough small businesses,” said Nora Jones, marketing and promotions coordinator for the Town of Jonesborough. “Chocolate Fest will also include a cake walk. This event will take place several times during the event at the Jones- borough Visitors Center.”

According to officials for the event, tickets for Chocolate Fest will be sold in packs of 10 for $20 at the Jonesborough Visitors Center. These packs will need to be purchased in advance. To get your early ticket, you may pick up beginning Monday, Feb. 6, through Thursday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“One ticket equals one chocolate treat. At check-in, attendees will receive a bag to carry chocolates in, chocolate-tasting tickets and a list of chocolate stops,” explained Jones. “All chocolates are individually pack- aged. Tickets are only good for the specific time period purchased. Throughout the event, attendees can also en- joy a variety of activities and entertainment.”

JAMSA will also be offering a special ticket for patrons over 21 called “Chocolate After Dark” on Friday, Feb. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m.

“Attendees are encouraged to purchase this ticket option in addition and will have access up to five beverage tasting stops for $15 in participating downtown businesses,” Jones noted. “The funds raised from Chocolate Fest supports Jonesborough’s small businesses and the community. Chocolate Fest will take place rain, snow or shine.”

Jonesborough Mayor Chuck Vest said Chocolate Fest is one of his favorite downtown events.

“I love seeing people of all ages sharing love of chocolate while often visiting our merchants in our beautiful downtown for the first time,” Vest said. “It’s great seeing couples use this as an awe- some date night too!”
