JONESBOROUGH – Washington County will temporarily suppress services at its Johnson City County Clerk and Trustee’s Office effective Monday, April 6.
This temporary closure only impacts the office at 378 Marketplace Boulevard. Staff from the Johnson City location will now work at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Jonesborough.
Out of an abundance of caution, elected officials made the hard decision to close the Historic Washington County Courthouse to the public earlier this month. Employees working at the courthouse are providing services, but ask that those who need to conduct business with the county call ahead.
Phone numbers for the Clerk and Trustee’s Office, along with services provided, are as follows:
• County Clerk’s Office (Vehicle Tags, Marriage Licenses, Business Licenses) – 753-1621
• Trustee’s Office (Property Tax Payments, Tax Relief Questions) – 753-1602
As a reminder, you can go online and apply for a marriage license, to become a notary and request a business license.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee extended the deadline for obtaining vehicle registration renewals that expire in March and April. The new deadline for obtaining these renewals is June 15, 2020.
