Washington County officers honored by local SAR chapter

From THE KINGS MOUNTAIN CHAPTER OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

On Saturday, Jan. 9 at the old Jonesborough Courthouse, the Kings Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented commendations to four Washington County Sheriff deputies for their successful lifesaving efforts that went above and beyond their normal duties.

These brave officers put their own lives at risk to save a drowning victim in frigid waters.

The commemorative ceremony reminds us of the dauntless courage our local law enforcement provides for our community in the same spirit that our patriots had in establishing our freedom we enjoy in the United States of America.

The four honored officers, pictured at right, are with SAR representatives. Shown left to right are Darryl Addington (SAR), Dave Carr (SAR), Tim Moore, Kenny Harless, Kevin Hurd, Porter Bible, John Neth (SAR), and Ben Stonecypher (SAR).

The Kings Mountain Chapter received its Charter from the Tennessee Society of the Sons of the American Revolution on the 20th of October 1966.
