WannaBeatles coming to Music on the Square

Jonesborough is going to celebrate 50 years of Beatles music with a little help from the popular tribute band, The WannaBeatles. The Grammy nominated group will perform their fun, family-friendly act at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at Jonesborough’s Music on the Square.
The WannaBeatles concert coincides with the 1964 American debut of The Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and celebrates the music and career of the famed Fab Four. The WannaBeatles, who were recently dubbed “The Ultimate Beatles Tribute Band” by Gov. Mike Huckabee during their appearance on his national television show, will use their multi-instrumental abilities to recreate the sounds and sights associated with the onset of BeatleMania and beyond.
“We go where no Beatles band has gone before,” said bandleader Dennis Scott. “Comedy, original material and audience participation are key elements to our show. And, of course, everyone will hear their favorite Beatles songs.”
In keeping with that, Jonesborough residents are encouraged to dress up in their favorite ’60s threads. The most “groovy” outfit will receive a copy of The WannaBeatles’ Grammy nominated album, “Fab Fan Memories – The Beatles Bond.”
