Town tourism logo to debut at festival

The town’s new tourism logo will likely make its first major debut as part of the Jonesborough Days Festival in July.
“We’re really, really super excited to have a brand we can promote now,” said Alicia Phelps, tourism and marketing director for the town. “You’ll never make everyone happy, but I think this logo has the majority of folks happy.”
The tourism logo was approved in May by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and was officially unveiled at a press conference late last month.
“We already have a couple of items with the logo on it for sale — stickers and car magnets,” Phelps said. “And we got it on our 2014-2015 visitors’ guides.”
While it is already being featured on some other tourism-related items such as press releases, Phelps said a specialty version of the logo created specifically for Jonesborough Days and the Fourth of July will be the brand’s first real showing.
