Student environmental group to host ‘tour’ of mountaintop removal mining

In conjunction with Earth Month, East Tennessee State University’s student-led group, the Environmental Conservation Organization, will sponsor the Google Earth Tour of Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining on Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. in Ball Hall auditorium.
The program includes graphic views from above by Google Earth showing the effects of mountaintop coal removal.
It is presented by Appalachian Voices, an environmental non-profit group with headquarters in Boone, N.C.
