Spreading the words

Above, Louise Borden, an award-winning children’s author, visits students at West View Elementary on Thursday, March 25, to share information about her life as a writer, including her travels around the world doing research for her books. Most importantly, she will share her expertise with students.
Borden’s books includes The Journey of Curious George: The True Wartime Escape of H.A. and Margaret Rey, which was selected as an American Library Association Notable Book. Borden’s historical fiction piece, Sleds on Boston Common, was selected as a Smithsonian’s Notable Book for Children.
The Visiting Author Project is sponsored by Literary Initiative for Appalachia, an educational nonprofit organization.
