Roe announces his bid for re-election

From STAFF REPORTS
First District U.S.Congressman Phil Roe announced on Monday in Johnson City he would run for re-election in the 2010 election.
If elected, it would be Roe’s second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Roe, a retired OB/GYN, narrowly defeated former Rep. David Davis in the 2008 1st District Republican primary.
After toying with the idea of running against Roe for a second time, Davis announced this month he would not run again after he conducted polls to test the waters for a campaign.
Roe serves on the Agriculture, Veterans Affairs, and Education and Labor Committees in the House.
He is also involved in the health care reform debate, and is a member of the Physicians’ Caucus and the Health Caucus.
Roe is a former Johnson City mayor.
