Northeast State’s move to Washington County starting to gain speed

Northeast State Community College is continuing its evaluation of the Downtown Centre as a potential campus in Washington County, Mayor Dan Eldridge said March 10 following a telephone conversation with college officials.
“We talked about where they are in their process,” he said.
“Representatives from each of the departments at Northeast State are visiting the Downtown Centre and doing their own reviews.”
Eldridge said all of their information will be included in the application to the state, adding that his role is answering questions and providing information to the different teams.
According to Eldridge, the process is very active right now.
“We’re starting to gain speed, and everyone is excited and enthusiastic about what this could be,” he said.
