No dough for local Pillsbury contestant
From STAFF REPORTS
Despite her best efforts, Jonesborough resident Cynthia Bowser returned home earlier this month from a national baking contest without the grand prize dough.
Last week, Bowser took part in the 44th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest in Orlando along with 99 other finalists.
Competing for the $1 million grand prize, Bowser was banking on her Blueberry-Almond Créme Muffins to win over the judges.
But it was New Jersey resident Sue Comptons recipe for mini ice cream cookie cups that earned the $1 million.
Compton and her award-winning recipe appeared on the Oprah Show last Wednesday.
