Jonesborough Theatre to hold auditions for ‘A Christmas Story’

The Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for “A Christmas Story” on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 5 and 6, at the Stage Door Box Office located beside the Theatre at 7 p.m.
This stage production of the classic family movie will give both adults and kids the chance at famous lines like “You’ll shoot your eye out,” “It’s a major award,” “Oh, fudge” and “I can’t put my arms down.”
The audition will consist of group cold readings. Characters needed include Ralphie Parker, Adult Ralphie, Ralphie’s dad “The Old Man,” Ralphie’s mother, Ralphie’s brother Randy, Ralphie’s teacher Miss Shields, Ralphie’s friends Flick and Schwartz, Helen Weathers, Esther Jane Alberry and the bully Scut Farkas. 
 The following age ranges are needed:
2 Men – Age: 30s – 50s
2 Women – Age: 20s – 50s
1 Teen Boy – Age: 10 – 20
3 Boys – Age: 8 – 16
2 Girls – Age: 8 – 16
1 Child – Age: 5 – 10
Performances will take place Dec. 4-20 on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. “A Christmas Story” is directed by Heather Knudtsen. For additional information on “A Christmas Story” auditions, contact 791-4440 or visit jonesboroughtheatre.
