Jonesborough farmers market kicking off May 7

The Jonesborough Farmers Market will open May 7, and farmers and gardeners who raise and sell their own produce or farm products are invited to become vendors.
Produce and farm products are always welcome. Baked goods and processed foods are also considered, but only if the producer holds a current permit and regulatory inspection from the Department of Agriculture.
The weekly fee to set up at the market is $5. The fee for the 24-week season is $50.
Applications are available on the website, or may be requested from Karen Childress at 753-4744 or [email protected]
Any returning or prospective vendor is also invited to the Spring Vendor Meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, April 5, in the fellowship hall of Jonesborough Presbyterian Church.
An informal potluck supper will begin at 6 p.m. for those who would like to talk informally among vendors. The business meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m.
Many new promotional ideas are planned for the Jonesborough market this year, including a weekly cash drawing during the peak weeks of the season and the acceptance of EBT, debit, and credit cards for customers. Weekly live music and monthly chef demonstrations will also continue.
