Jobs coming to Jonesborough

An economic bright spot is shining its rays on Jonesborough as dozens of new jobs make their way to Tennessee’s oldest town.
Lowe’s on Highway 11E in Jonesborough is gearing up for the spring season by adding an estimated 35 to 40 jobs at the store, according to Clayton Ingram, assistant store manager in Johnson City.
“Our busy time doesn’t really start until March, but we’re getting ready for it now,” Ingram said. “There are openings throughout the store, both full time and part time.”
The Lowe’s home improvement stores in Johnson City and Elizabethton are also hiring, with a total of 200 to 220 jobs being added to the workforce.

The planned opening of Tractor Supply Co. in mid-March in Jonesborough will also bring additional jobs to town.
