Groom-to-be wins wedding at Town bridal fair
With the cost of weddings estimated to be in the thousands, last weekends bridal fair in Jonesborough offered brides-and-grooms-to-be more than just a slew of options for their big day it gave one couple some extra padding in the pocketbook.
The second annual event featured a wedding giveaway where Frank Mosley, of Jonesborough, won a wedding, a grand prize valued at $7,000.
In addition to Mosleys big payoff, the fair featured booths at both the Jonesborough Visitors Center and the International Storytelling Center. The displays featured options for everything from bridal jewelry to cake flavors.
Pretty much the whole town was involved in it this year, said Amber Crumley, Historic Jonesboroughs director of tourism and marketing. And most of the merchants either donated individual items as prizes, or were part of the $7,000 Win Your Wedding door prize.
According to event organizers, more vendors took part in this years event than the previous year and approximately 125 people attended the fair.
Jonesborough is charming and picturesque. Its the perfect place to celebrate the most special day of your dreams, Crumley said. It has the venues, the caterers, lodging downtown, shopping. Everything is within walking distance. Its so convenient. Its the perfect wedding destination.
