Graphic novelist, comic creator to visit Jonesborough library
Graphic novelist and DC Comic creator Dwight L. MacPherson will present a program for the Jonesborough Library Teen Advisory Group on Monday, August 9, at 6:30 p.m.
MacPhersons most recent Web comic, Sidewise, won the 2009 Web comic competition. His work has been published at Image, IDW (American McGees Grimm), Shadowline, Devils Due, Viper (Kid Houdini & the Silver Dollar Misfits), Slave Labor Graphics, Arcana Studio (Dead Men Tell No Tales), and Silent Devil Productions (Dracula vs. King Arthur.)
Along with being a professional comic book creator and writer, MacPherson has also edited several comics; among them is the just released H.P.Lovecraft-inspired Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom (Arcana).
MacPherson was nominated for both a Harvey and an Eagle Award for The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allen Poo. Original artwork from the graphic novel was included in the Library of Virginias Poe: Man, Myth or Monster exhibit in 2009.
His latest project is a young adult novel which he describes as The Lord of the Rings meets American Gods with a healthy dose of Legend of Zelda.
