Applications to attend the Washington County Department of Education Pre-kindergarten 5.5 hour per week day program for the 2020-2021 school year will be available March 9 – April 17 at Grandview Elementary, Gray Elementary, Lamar Elementary and at the Washington County Department of Education Central Office. All applications should be submitted no later than Friday, April 17.
When you submit the completed application, you will be given an appointment to bring your child to the school for an educational screening in May.
The child must be 4 years old on or before Aug.15, 2020. A screening process of applicants will follow in May and a lottery drawing will determine acceptance into the program.
An income eligibility application must be completed with verification being a 2019 income tax return. Also, verification of the home address must be provided (example of verification – monthly electric bill).
Pre-K hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from school.
