Fall Branch bank robbed, Rogersville man arrested

A Rogersville man was behind bars on a charge of aggravated robbery.
According to police, the robbery took place shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Peoples Community Bank, 1706 Hwy. 93, Fall Branch.
Police were still searching for the person responsible when they received a tip that Shannon Cavin, 38, of Rogersville, was responsible for robbing the bank.
Bank employees positively identified Cavin from a photo lineup and surveillance video as the bank robber, according to reports.
Cavin was arrested a short time later in Kingsport.
He was charged with especially aggravated robbery and was being held in the Washington County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
Cavin was scheduled to make a brief court appearance on Friday in Washington County Sessions Court.
