Crockett band takes top honors at two recent events
The David Crockett High School Pioneer Band performed at the 28th Annual Appalachian Classic Band Festival held at Sullivan Central on Oct. 20.
The band took first place in music, marching and general effect categories.
It also won first place for Class AA and won the Grand Champions trophy for small bands.
The band came in second place in the categories of percussion, color guard and drum major.
The Pioneer Band also performed at the 7th Annual Trailblazer Band Bash on Oct. 13.
There, the Pioneer Band earned first place in music, marching and general effect categories in their division.
The Color Guard received first place in the division, and the percussion and drum major each received second place in the division. The band had the second highest score of all bands at the Trailblazer Band Bash.
