From STAFF REPORTS
The Jonesborough Area Merchants & Service Association has adapted their sixth Annual Chocolate Fest to safely take place Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14.
There will be chocolate stops dotted throughout downtown provided by Jonesborough small businesses, each serving something chocolate-themed. Everything from barks, fudges, chocolate-covered strawberries and more will be available.
One ticket equals one chocolate treat. At check-in, you will receive a bag to carry your chocolates in, your pack of 10 tickets, and a mask if needed.
The event has been adapted in a variety of ways to ensure our small businesses, the community and visitors all remain healthy and safe.
The event has been modified from a one-day event to a three-day event with multiple times available and a limited number of tickets sold.
The days and times are as follows; Friday, Feb. 12 from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.
All chocolates are packaged for pick up to be enjoyed at home. Social distancing guidelines will be in place and masks are required, due to the Washington County mask mandate.
In addition to Chocolate Fest, attendees can take part in The Spread the Love Project organized by Main Street Jonesborough.
This is a fundraiser for area non-profits, as well community projects, to share your words of love and kindness to be displayed throughout Downtown Jonesborough in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Select downtown businesses will offer paper hearts to purchase for a suggested donation that will go to a non-profit of their choosing. Participants will write a message of love or kindness on the heart and the business will display it in their store window through the holiday. You’ll also be able to purchase a paper heart online and include a personalized note by visiting Jonesborough.com.
JAMSA is operated by volunteers, consisting of local business owners and community members. As an organization, they focus on promoting and serving local merchants as well as the growth of Jonesborough as a whole. Chocolate Fest is just one of the ways JAMSA works to support locally owned businesses.
The funds raised from Chocolate Fest go to support Jonesborough’s small businesses and the community.
The sixth annual Chocolate Fest will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 14.
Tickets will be sold in packs of 10 for $15 and need to be purchased in advance.
Early ticket pick-up will be held Monday, Feb. 8 through Thursday, Feb. 11.
All check-in and pick up will take place at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center located on Boone Street.
