Art in the Park sees good weather, nice turnout
More than 20 local artists displayed their works during Historic Jonesboroughs Third Annual Fine Art in the Park Festival. Held Oct. 22-23 at the International Storytelling Center Park, visitors were treated to a variety of different mediums, including sculpture and handmade jewelry. Top left is Nancy Jane Earnest, lifelong artist and resident of Johnson City. Aside from her landscape and portrait work, she is dedicated to the use of expressive arts as a healing modality. Middle left, guests enjoy the work of Douglas Gross, of Jonesborough. Gross enjoys photographing common things and framing them in such a way to create art. Brett Anderson, bottom left, spends long hours handcrafting kitchen tools, decorative items and musical instruments.
