Area residents receive academic honors

East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy recently announced the names of students who attained a grade point average qualifying them for inclusion in the dean’s list for the fall 2011 session.
Students who qualified for the dean’s list were enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Students earning the honor include Helen J. Mason, of Jonesborough; Grant M. Feathers, Camellia J. Groover, Brian C. Jackson and Christan M. Thomas, all of Gray; Jarrett E. Wyatt, of Fall Branch; and Joshua N. Cloyd, of Telford.
Jonesborough resident Joshua Hornsey and Gray resident Derek Quindry were both named to the Honor List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2011 fall semester.
Hornsey is the son of Robert and Kathryn Hornsey, of Jonesborough. Quindry is the son of Donna Quindry, of Gray.
Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be named to the Honor List.
