The Isaacs to headline Christian Storytelling Festival on Aug. 24

The award winning singing family, The Isaacs, will headline the 2012 Christian Storytelling Festival set for Friday, Aug. 24, at Providence Academy.
Lily Isaacs, the matriarch of the multi-award winning group, will be the featured storyteller for the event. She will share the multi-generational story of God’s faithfulness starting with her parents, two Jewish concentration camp survivors.
Lily’s family testimony will be followed by a concert by The Isaacs, who began singing 30 years ago. The vocalists are Lily Isaacs, Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs, and Rebecca Isaacs Bowman.
Playing their own acoustic instruments and joined by other band members, the Isaacs have a unique style that blends tight family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation that appeals to a variety of audiences.
Their musical influences emerge from all genres of music including bluegrass, rhythm and blues, folk, country, contemporary acoustic, and southern gospel. They perform frequently at The Grand Ole Opry, are active members on the Gaither Homecoming Videos and Concert Series, and travel throughout the year performing internationally.
Local phenom, Carson Peters will open for The Isaacs.
The 8-year-old fiddler is a quickly making a name for himself with his fiddle by winning competitions and entertaining audiences across the region. Peters lives with his parents, Jamie and Robin Peters in Piney Flats.
All proceeds from the Christian Storytelling Festival support the Providence Academy need-based Annual Scholarship Fund.
