Radio hour to celebrate town’s Christmas past

Jonesborough’s Original Storytelling Radio Hour comes to the International Storytelling Stage on Monday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. with stories, skits and songs all about Jonesborough’s Christmas Past. The show will also be recorded for a future broadcast on WETS 89.5 FM.
In this month’s show, it’s Christmas Eve 1968, and Curt the paperboy is delivering more than just the news tonight.
Will James make it home from the War? Will his child remember him? Will the Brooks children get a bicycle? And what exactly did the Boones Creek Boys do at the Erwin Parade with that old possum?
Celebrate the season with the Yarn Exchange and join us for some holiday cheer.
Through a grant with the Harris Fund and in partnership with East Tennessee State University, you can tune in to their broadcasts on WETS FM 89.5 or stream online at wets.org on HD Channel 1, on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m. A Night with the Yarn Exchange is part of Jonesborough’s Mary B. Martin Program for the Arts
Tickets to the show are $5 for adults and $3 for children. They can be purchased at the door on the night of the performance, by calling 753-1010 or by visiting jonesboroughtheatre.com.
