The Providence Academy Elementary Art Department hosted its 15th annual Winter Art Exhibit last week, this year choosing the theme, Its all Greek to me. The event transformed the schools cafeteria into a spectacular exhibit featuring the artwork of elementary school students as well as a school-sized version of the Greek Parthenon surrounded by various Grecian exhibits hosted by sixth-graders in traditional Grecian costume. Artwork showcased at the event included dramatic theater masks and traditional Grecian urns and pottery. The students, at various stations within the school, told about Greek life including mythological characters such as Medusa and the Minotaur, medicine, philosophy and more.
