Downtown Jonesborough will be adding a new festival to its summer line up.
“Soda Fest,” an event that will be held on June 4, will feature 100 different kinds of soda, all available to sample. The festival will also feature a fun, family friendly atmosphere, with music and more.
While details are still being finalized, organizer Jeff Gurley, who also came up with the idea for the wildly successful Chocolate Fest in February, believes this new event will be a great one for the town of Jonesborough.
“Soda Fest will kind of follow the Chocolate Fest formula, where we would have 100 different sodas, from classic sodas to crazy sodas, inside the businesses all over downtown and (guests) would come in to sample sodas,” he told an audience of merchants and town residents at Thursday night’s Main Street Mingle, held at JJ’s Eatery and Ice Cream in Jonesborough this month.
Tickets are expected to go on sale soon.
Soda Fest is sponsored by the Jonesborough Area Merchants Association.
