New site could be heard for Boones Creek school during Tuesday night’s board meeting

The Herald and Tribune has learned that the Washington County Board of Education may be presented with another site during their meeting on Tuesday night. The board voted to move the meeting from their normal Thursday time slot, due to the election being held on August 4.
The new land is located on Dove Lane and entails 43.5 acres located off of Highway 36. The piece of property has been on Zillow for 123 days, as of Monday, August 1, and is currently listed for $804,750.
The Washington County Attorney’s Office said that the county had not entered into a land option agreement with any land owners on Dove Lane. However, school board members still expect to hear specifics on the new land during a presentation by their architect Tony Street on Tuesday night.
The Dove Lane location is 4.3 miles from the current location of Boones Creek Middle School — directly down Highway 36 heading toward Airport road. The Dove Lane property is also 7.1 miles from Marvin’s Chapel Methodist Church, which sits directly across the site that has been voted down twice on the corner of Free Hill Rd and Old Boones Creek Road.
Check back with the Herald and Tribune on Tuesday night for more information.
