The Town of Jonesborough’s Tourism Department, Main Street Program and McKinney Center were honored among the tourism industry’s top performers by Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association on Thursday, June 25, during the 23rd Annual Pinnacle Awards.
Jonesborough’s Tourism Department was awarded best TV Commercial with their Rewind in Time video, Main Street Jonesborough was awarded best Social Media Campaign with their Shop Small Social Media Campaign, and Jonesborough’s McKinney Center was awarded Best New Event with The Long Trip Home Community Play.
Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association saw more than 53 entries that were ranked by a panel of judges within the tourism and advertising industry associated with the Southeast Tourism Society. Pinnacle Awards were given to the top entry in each category.
Tourism is the second largest economic driver in Tennessee, with Northeast Tennessee generating more than $877 million in direct tourist spending, more than $189 million in payroll while employing more than 6,800 people, and generating more than $26 million in local sales tax receipts annually and Jonesborough is proud to contribute to these numbers.
