Daniel Boone High School athletes competed in the state indoor track championships at Vanderbilt on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Jeremiah Sullivan won the 25-pound weight throw. Meanwhile, Boone’s boys distance medley relay team, comprised of Matt Huff, Joe Jones, Austin Galloway and Chance Bowman took first in their relay race.

The girls distance relay team set a new school record and placed third.

The girls distance medley relay team, comprised of Maria Chellah, Patricia Chellah, Judy Chellah and Grace Murray, placed third and set a new school record. The girls also placed fourth in the 400 meter relay.

Meanwhile, Maria Chellah placed third in the 800 meter run — she now holds the new Daniel Boone High School record for the event.

Katie Cutshall placed sixth in the pole vault while Alanna Cloud competed in the two-mile run with a personal best time.

The boys team placed fourth overall and the girls placed seventh as a team out of over 40 scoring teams. All of these athletes were named all-state in their respective events.

Maria Chellah placed third in the 800 meter run and was a part of the girls distance team.

Jeremiah Sullivan won the 25-pound weight throw for Boone at the meet.
