Tava Ann Cook

A Celebration of Life for Tava Ann Cook will be held on Friday, March 30th, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the International Storytelling Center in downtown Jonesborough. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and daughter, and provider for all her Furbabies over the years. Leaving a career in nursing to become an artist extraordinaire, her work was a feature of downtown for nearly 40 years. Her newest passion was for the Wakulla River, where she was in her element, floating along with the birds, manatees, and an occasional alligator. She was also a lover of music, and could often be seen flat footing on the stoop of the gallery as the tunes of a good bluegrass band filled the air on a Friday night. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to the Washington County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Washington County.

Show her that river,

Lead her across,

And take all her troubles

away.

Like the lucky old sun,

Give her nothin’ to do,

But ‘Row’ around heaven

all day.
