Leonard Draper -
Leonard Henry Draper, 63, of Jonesborough, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence.
He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Leonard Richard and Dorothy Ledford Draper.
Leonard was an electrician for the Jones Electric Company. He was a veteran of both Korea and Vietnam, was awarded the Purple Heart, having served in the U.S. Army. Leonard was a former member of the Johnson City VFW. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Doris Hardin Draper, of the home; two sons, Christopher Draper and Jeffrey Draper, both of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Alexandria Jo Draper, Sierra Rae-Ann Draper and Cassandra Michelle Draper; ten brothers and six sisters-in-law, Gary and Marcia Draper, of Johnson City, Bobby and Janis Draper, of Charlotte, NC, Larry and Sharon Draper, of Cuba, MO, Kennith and Mary Draper, of Johnson City, Charley Draper, of Johnson City, Dale Draper, Daytona Beach, FL, Clark Draper, of Jonesborough, Carman Draper, of Atlanta, GA, Steve and Joann Draper, of Jonesborough, and Dennis and Patsy Draper, of Johnson City; four step sisters, Linda and her husband, Eddie Bennett, of Johnson City, Brenda Garland, of Jonesborough, Tammy Garland, of Johnson City, and Rose Garland, of MI; a step brother, Junior Garland of Johnson City; a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was scheduled for Sunday, December 2, 2012, in the South Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Ken Hauser, Minister.
A committal service was conducted on Monday, December 3, 2012, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
The Boone Dam VFW and the Tennessee National Guard provided military honors.
