Margaret Patterson -

Margaret Josiephine Patterson Snapp, age 92 of Church Hill, TN passed into eternal rest on Saturday, June 23, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born June 2, 1920 in Hawkins County to Guy Daniel and Mary Maybell Love Patterson.

Margaret graduated from Church Hill High School in 1938, the last surviving member of her graduating class of Seventeen. She taught school for one year at Mt. View Elementary. She was a life long devoted member of McFerrin United Methodist Church where she had served as church secretary and Sunday School teacher. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, knitting and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John W. “June” Snapp, Jr., son; James Danny Snapp, parents and brother; James Daniel Patterson.

Survivors include her son; Samuel Thomas Snapp and wife, Ruth Ann of Jonesborough. She was blessed with three grandchildren; Robert Moore and wife, Barbara of New York City, Sherri Edmondson and husband, Gene of Greensboro, N.C. and Tony Snapp and wife Tracy of Jonesborough. Four great grandchildren; Hunter, Brooklyn, Dustin and Clay. Margaret is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Regina Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the McPheeters Bend Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the family and friends for their care during Mrs. Snapp illness. A very special thank you to her caregiver Dinah Lawson for her care for Mr. & Mrs. Snapp.
