Roe recognized for his support of small businesses

U.S. Congressman Phil Roe (TN-01) recently was recognized as a Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business.

Roe was among 292 members of Congress receiving the Guardian award for an outstanding voting record on behalf of America’s small business owners in the 112th Congress.

“Supporting small businesses in East Tennessee has been a priority for me since being elected to Congress. I am honored to receive the Guardian award,” Roe said. “I believe the entrepreneurial spirit in America is strong, and I respect the risk-taking that comes with building a small business. When our small businesses are successful, jobs are created. I will continue to work toward a pro-growth business climate that rewards, not punishes, success and innovation.”

Guardian awards are given to U.S. senators and representatives who vote favorably on key small business issues at least 70 percent of the time.
