JRT to hold auditions for ‘The Hobbit’

Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production, The Hobbit, on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 9-10, at 7 p.m. at the theater.

All ages are encouraged to audition and no special preparation is required.

Adapted for the stage by Patricia Gray, based on the book by J.R. Tolkin, fans of Tolkin will be thrilled to help bring the story to life on the JRT stage.

The show is scheduled to run March 8-24.

The Hobbit, features the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, a portly, easy-going fellow, who will have his quiet, comfortable life drastically altered when he makes a very out-of-character decision to join a quest.

Bilbo, Gandalf the Wizard and a team of 13 dwarves journey across Middle Earth to reclaim stolen treasure from a diabolical dragon.
