Holt to offer tribute concert in Jonesborough

Four-time Grammy Award winner David Holt is a musician, storyteller, historian, television host and entertainer, dedicated to performing and preserving traditional American music and stories.

Holt is set to visit Jonesborough on Friday, Nov. 30, to offer a special tribute to his long-time friend and mentor, Doc Watson

His performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Jonesborough Visitors Center.

Watson left an amazing legacy of music and stories. Hailed as one the country’s greatest folk musicians, Watson has left an indelible mark on American music and culture.

In the tribute, Holt traces Watson’s life through stories, songs and historic photographs.

For over three decades, Holt’s passion for traditional music and culture has fueled a successful performing and recording career.

He has performed and recorded with many of his mentors including Watson, Grandpa Jones, Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Roy Acuff and Chet Atkins. Today he tours the country performing solo, and with Doc Watson and with his band, The Lightning Bolts.
